Wood Group Acquires Aberdeen Engineering Firm

Aberdeen-based manufacturing and fabricating business, Enterprise Engineering Service Limited (ESSL), has been acquired by Wood Group.

The energy services firm stated ESSL's employees will remain at the company's 4,000 sq m fabrication facility on Craigshaw Road.

ESSL entered into administration last month and Wood Group said the move will add fabrication to its services.

Dave Stewart, Wood Group PSN's Chief Executive Officer (CEO), said: "The acquisition of Enterprise Engineering Service Ltd.'s fabrication and manufacturing business broadens our repair order capabilities, enabling us to offer a fully integrated, end to end service that supports our clients in assuring the integrity of their assets.

"Our focus is on providing the expertise that enables the life extension of onshore and offshore assets, which is critical in this mature phase of the UKCS."
