Soil Engineering Geoservices has secured a further £2 million contract on the A9 Dualling programme.

The contractor will carry out ground investigation works over the 13-mile Killiecrankie to Glen Garry section of the A9.

The project is due to begin next month and will be completed at the end of this year.

Previously, Soil Engineering Geoservices were awarded a £1m contract to carry out ground investigations on the 8.5km Tomatin to Moy section.

Economy Secretary Keith Brown said: "The A9 Dualling programme between Perth and Inverness is one of the largest and most challenging infrastructure projects in Scotland's history and as we continue to work across the programme, these further ground investigations will support the ongoing design work for this significant and well-used section of the route between Killiecrankie and Glen Garry."
