Engineering contractor Gael Force has been selected to carry out a £600,000 river project near Perth.
The firm will finalise designs and install pontoons on the River Tay at the Fergusson Gallery and at Willowgate.
The three-month project aims to install the tourism infrastructure needed to encourage river tips and promote the Tay as a visitor location.
The scheme is part of the Perth City Plan and funding was secured from the Coastal Communities Fund (CCG) in 2015.
David Clarke, Chairman of the Tay and Earn Trust, said: "The river Tay is an important and unique asset for Perth City and developing the infrastructure along the inner Tay to improve access and attract visitors to the area is vital. I am delighted that this important stage has been reached and that work can now commence on building the pontoons."
Work is due to begin in August, with completion scheduled for summer 2017.
