The local authority plans to restore Hermitage Park in Helensburgh.
Additional funding from the armed forces will go towards improving the parks leisure area as well as the installation of a new multi-use pavilion.
Proposals to upgrade the park include new play zones for older children; a fountain plaza and a hard standing multi-use events space; a mini-games area suitable for learning to cycle and walking football; a pavilion with a café, toilets, a community room, an information hub and covered buggy stands, along with a community garden.

Cllr Maurice Corry said: "The maximum grant is usually £125,000; we've achieved double that and are absolutely delighted. This is another example of the council and the MoD working in partnership to deliver what we all want – a sustainable economic future Argyll and Bute."
Chris Packard, Chair of the Friends of Hermitage Park, added: "The Friends of Hermitage Park are absolutely delighted with the news that the Armed Forces Covenant Fund has awarded £250,000 towards the regeneration of Hermitage Park."
