Planning has been approved for a £6.5 million housing development in Fife.
Kingdom Housing Association plans to build 49 new homes at Pitscottie Road in Cupar.
Designed by local architects Montgomery Forgan, it will be built by Fife-based contractor Campion Homes.
Each property will have sustainable features, including enhanced thermal insulation standards; energy monitoring meters; water efficiency measure and photovoltaic panels.
In addition, 50% of the homes have been designed to amenity standard to meet the needs of older people or applicants with particular needs.
Bill Banks, chief executive at Kingdom, said: "We are delighted the project is progressing, particularly given the high needs for affordability housing in Fife. There are currently over 9,000 active applicants on the Fife housing waiting list and almost 350 of the applicants are on the list for a home in Cupar. This project will help meet the housing need in the area for many years to come.
"The project will provide over £6.5m investment in social housing and help contribute to economic development in the local area. As part of the project it is proposed to deliver a range of community benefits, including schools initiatives, employment opportunities, apprenticeships and training placements."
The project will begin on site later this summer.
