Esh Border Construction has won a contract to build a new café and footbridge in the Scottish Borders.
The Cumbria-based firm will build the facilities as part of the £3.64 million Wilton Lodge Regeneration Project in Hawick.
Main works are expected to take place this summer and are scheduled to be finished by autumn 2016. Discussions are currently taking place to build a new play park on the former bowling green, which would be open in spring 2017.
Councillor Gordon Edgar said: "I welcome the progress being made on the new café as part of the Wilton Lodge Park Regeneration project.
"While the café will not be operational until next year, we expect a temporary catering facility to be up and running in coming weeks to serve users of the park throughout the busy summer months.
"There is no doubt the regeneration project has already improved the quality and standard of Hawick's much loved park, with an exciting programme of events and volunteering opportunities encouraging more people to enjoy Wilton Lodge Park."
