The Highland Council has announced that the West Link Stage One works will commence on Tuesday 03 May and is expected to be completed by 2017.
The initial works on Stage One will commence on the A82 Glen Urquhart at its junction with Bught Drive and are expected to last for 6 weeks, with traffic management in place.
Motorists may experience some delays when travelling through this area and when accessing and exiting the Aquadome leisure centre. Full consultation has been carried out with stakeholders including BEAR Scotland, Local Area Office and Stagecoach.
Leader of the Council, Cllr Margaret Davidson said: "It is good to see this section of the work underway. The West Link will deliver significant economic benefits to the city and surrounding area, reducing congestion and enabling construction jobs and housing development. It is anticipated that almost £4 in economic benefit will be achieved for every £1 spent on building the road alone."
The West Link forms part of the Council's contribution to the City-Region Deal investment by partners, agreed in March 2016.
