Councillors have approved plans to build a new primary school in Moray.
The council's children and young people's services committee voted unanimously in favour of the proposal today, 27 April.
While the new Elgin school will open in accommodation next to East End Primary School in August, a permanent site has been earmarked to the west of Linkwood Road.
It is hoped the development will be completed by the beginning of the 2018/19 season.
The idea was part of an approved 'masterplan' for the south of Elgin, which plans for 2,500 new homes along with community facilities to be built over a 30-year period.
