Dunbritton Housing Association (DHA) and Cullross have revealed plans to regenerate a former whisky distillery site at Dumbarton Harbour.
The derelict site, which was previously home to Ballantine’s Whisky Distillery, will be completely regenerated and face the Harbour Front.
Phase One of the scheme involves building 108 'affordable' homes.
Dunbritton's acquisition of the phase one site from Cullross has been funded by a Scottish Government grant along with private finance.
JM Architects have now begun designing the proposed site layout and a public consultation will follow in due course, prior to a planning application being submitted.
Construction on the scheme is expected to get underway within the next 12 months.
Morven Short, Director of DHA said: "We are delighted to have this opportunity to work with Cullross to bring much-needed high-quality housing to Dumbarton town centre. This represents major investment and I look forward to working with Cullross on this major improvement project."
