Work is underway on a £29.7 million high school in East Renfrewshire.
The new Barrhead High School is being built adjacent to the existing school at the Johnny Kelly Pavilion and blaes pitch site.
Originally, the development was delayed due to legal issues surrounding European accounting rules, which also held back a number of public sector finance projects in Scotland.
The new school is being delivered through the Scottish Government's Hub programme and is funded by both the council (£7.9m) and the Scottish Futures Trust.
It is expected to be finished in time for summer 2017.
Andy Sinclair, Barrhead High School Head Teacher, said: "I'm very pleased that work on the new Barrhead High School is now starting on site.
"The plans for the new school look fantastic - it will be an outstanding school for the pupils, staff, parents and community."
