Work To Begin On £8m Care Home In Inverclyde

Work is to begin on a new care home in Inverclyde, it has been announced.

The £8 million project is being delivered in Greenock by NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde in partnership with hub West Scotland.

Financial close on the scheme was reached on Friday, 26 January.

The facility, designed by architects Archial NORR, will provide Adult and Older Peoples Continuing Care mental health accommodation in a 'dementia-friendly' environment.

The main contractor for the project is Morgan Sindall.

Debbie McNamara, Chief Executive at hub West Scotland, said: "We are delighted to reach this stage of such an important project with our partners NHS GG&C. The Inverclyde Care Home will provide an outstanding facility to improve care for adults with complex mental health needs."

Brian Moore, Director of Inverclyde HSCP, added: "We are delighted that this project is moving onto the next stage which will see the new building complete by summer 2017."
