Contractors have completed a £1.9 million primary school refurbishment programme in North Lanarkshire.
The two-phase project took a year to deliver at Netherton Primary School.
The first stage involved developing a new admin wing containing a school office, meeting room and medical room.
During the second phase, two classroom huts were demolished at the rear of the school and new educational space was created.
The extension includes four new classrooms, a multi-purpose room, a new dining area and kitchen, additional toilets and store rooms.
Modern construction and design techniques were utilised throughout the project including solar panels on the roof and sun-pipes in corridors, making the building more energy efficient.
Councillor Jim Logue said: "The new facilities are very impressive and I'm sure the pupils and staff at Netherton will be very proud of their new school."
