A new primary school has been opened in Perth and Kinross.

The new Crieff Primary School is located on Broich Road and was officially unveiled on Thursday, 28 January.

It was designed by Holmes Miller Architects and built by BAM Construction.

Features of the building include new primary and nursery facilities such as a gymnasium, sports pitches, multi-use games area and a playground. In addition, biomass boilers provide heating and hot water facilities, reducing the school's carbon footprint.

Work began at the site in March 2014 and the scheme was completed by June 2015.

Council Leader Ian Miller said: "The enhanced facilities for learning and teaching in the new Crieff Primary School will make a real difference to the school community, who I am sure will greatly benefit from the new and improved range of provision."

The project is part of the council's programme of improvements to the region's schools estates and was delivered in partnership with East Central Hub.
