It is understood £2 million will be granted towards the overall £6.4 million cost of redeveloping St Margaret’s Primary School in Cowie.
The financial boost was revealed by Cabinet Secretary for Culture, Europe and External Affairs Fiona Hyslop.
As well as a primary school, the new building will provide nursery facilities for children aged up until five as well as a community hall.

In addition, a new football pitch will be developed in the grounds along with new gymnasium equipment and bike storage facilities.
Councillor Violet Weir said: "The school building has been in dire need of replacement for some time and I am pleased to see the Council’s plans for the school now coming to fruition. Improving outcomes and performance for our pupils is a key priority for Stirling Council and these new facilities will make a huge difference to the children’s learning experience."
Construction began in June 2015 and the new school is due to open in August this year.
