Aberdeenshire Councillors are due to vote on proposals for a multi-million pound flood protection scheme in the region.
The project to protect Stonehaven involves reducing the risk in the lower catchment area of the River Carron, which has previously flooded nearby homes and businesses.
The scheme began in December 2013 and is estimated to cost between £14m and £16m.
The council's Infrastructure Services Committee are now due to make a preliminary decision on 28 January if the proposed scheme should go ahead.
