Work is due to get underway on a new leisure and community facility in South Ayrshire.
The £6 million project has now reached financial close and will be built by Morrison Constructio. Work will start later this month at Girvan Harbour.
The scheme is being led by the council and hub South West.
The new building will be operated by South Carrick Community Leisure (SCCL) and will be home to a 25-metre swimming pool, a soft play area, a fitness gym, flexible multi-purpose studio/community space, changing facilities and a café.
A further £350,000 has been committed by the council in order to get build works underway.
Other funding partners include:
• sportscotland (£400,000)
• Scottish Government Regeneration Capital Grant Fund (£250,000)
• Carrick Futures (£250,000)
• Girvan Regeneration Fund (£157,000)
• Hadyard Hill Community Benefit Fund (£100,000)
• Scottish Power Renewables Kilgallioch Wind Farm (£100,000)
• William Grant Foundation (£50,000).
Michael McBrearty, Chief Executive, hub South West Scotland, said: "We have once again enjoyed a positive working relationship with South Ayrshire Council to develop and deliver a facility which will deliver real community benefit both through its delivery and into its operation."
The new facility is scheduled to open in spring 2017.
