Upgrade work is to be carried out next week to the water network in Glasgow, Scottish Water has announced.

As part of its £250 million five-year investment plans, the company will improve a number of Combined Sewer Overflows (CSOs) which run into the River Kelvin.

It is understood the works will begin on Monday, 18 January.

The two week project aims to reduce the number of spills from CSOs which flow into the river.

As part of the scheme, Scottish Water will carry out borehole investigations in Kelvinhaugh Street at the junction of Argyle Street before the upgrade works can begin.

Traffic management and signed diversions will be in place.
