AWPR/B-T Bridge Beams To Arrive This Weekend – Transport Scotland

Bridge beams for the Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route/Balmedie to Tipperty (AWPR/B-T) project are due to be delivered this weekend, Transport Scotland has announced.

A total of 28 beams will help form a new bridge over the Aberdeen to Inverness railway line as part of the scheme.

Each of the 20 metre long beams are now being delivered to Dyce between Saturday, 09 January and Tuesday, 12 January.

They will be transported using 14 wide load vehicles carrying two beams per truck between 9:30am and 3:30pm each day.

The beams will then be held at the observation area, overlooking the runway at the north end of Dyce Drive, until they are ready to be transferred onto the construction site.

A spokesperson for the AWPR/B-T project said: "Beam deliveries are integral to the AWPR/B-T project, which will have 75 principal structures, two river crossings, one railway bridge and over 70 culverts."
