SPIE UK has secured an £80 million contract with Scottish Power Energy Networks (SPEN), it has been announced.
The company's newly created Distribution & Transmission business will provide overhead line services during a four-year period across Scotland.
SPIE's responsibilities includes Extra High Voltage (EHV) / High Voltage (HV) rebuilds, EHV/HV refurbishment, Low Voltage modernisation, ESQCR (Electricity Safety, Quality and Continuity Regulations) hazard clearance, customer connections and emergency storm response works.
In addition, there is the added potential to extend the contract by a further four years.
SPIE UK's MD for Industrial Services, Steven Nanda, said: "We are proud to be working with Scottish Power Energy Networks, and excited to commence work on what is the first major contract for Spie UK's Distribution & Transmission business.
"We are looking forward to being an integral part of Scottish Power Energy Networks overhead line distribution programme for many years to come."
