Council Grants Permission For £2.6m Refurb Project In Bearsden

East Dunbartonshire Council has granted planning permission for a £2.6 million redevelopment project in Bearsden.

Proposals have been put forward to develop the Grade A-listed Kilmardinny House into a wedding, conference and arts centre.

The creation of a new garden pavilion extension will provide a modern, flexible space and enhance the venue as a centre for local arts, performance and community groups, according to the council.

The current building will undergo internal and external refurbishments, including redecoration and some repairs to external stonework and windows.

Cllr Alan Moir said: "This is great news for East Dunbartonshire. Kilmardinny House is a well-established and much loved local asset that is well used by many groups and organisations."

Cllr Anne Jarvis, Chair of EDLC Trust, added: "This exciting project promises to breathe new life into Kilmardinny House as a venue of choice for the 21st century."
