Over £120,000 of maintenance works are due to be carried out on a dual carriageway trunk road in North Ayrshire, it has been announced.
Scotland TranServ will resurface the road between Chapelhill and Sharphill Roundabouts, near to Three Towns Bypass, on behalf of Transport Scotland.
The works will take place between 8pm and 8am on Monday, 14 December.
Gordon Wilson, contract director, Scotland TranServ said: "This essential maintenance scheme will improve the resilience of this section of the A78 for years to come.
"We have planned and programmed the works to minimise disruption to local residents and the travelling public, so these works will be carried during overnight closures, when traffic flows are lighter."
Diversions will be in place.
