A road in West Lothian has reopened after essential resurfacing works were carried out, it has been announced.
The A706 road between Whitburn and Longridge was reopened on Wednesday, 20 October.
Essential carriageway resurfacing works took place along the route, with works completed over a week earlier than originally anticipated.
A council spokesperson said: "The council is committed to investing in West Lothian's roads. The annual Capital Maintenance programme which includes surface condition assessments identified that this particular stretch of carriageway on the A706 required to be resurfaced.
"To date the council has had to undertake temporary patching to maintain the road in a safe condition."
