Tata Steel's UK Steel Enterprise is providing a £1.5m job support package for Scotland after plans were announced to close two steel plants.
Communities in Dalzell and Clydebridge will receive the package to support the local economy and employees affected by the closures.
A total of 270 jobs will be lost.
The news comes as both the UK Government and Tata Steel today, 23 October announced a £9m support package due to the closure of steelworks in Scunthorpe, costing 900 jobs.
Karl Koehler, Chief Executive of Tata Steel's European operations, said: "I recognise this is a challenging time for the employees affected by the restructuring we announced.
"We are committed to doing everything in our power to support those impacted and through UK Steel Enterprise we will help create new jobs in the affected local communities."
