Construction Underway On West Lothian Housing Site

Construction is underway on a new-build council housing site in West Lothian.

The site is one of the largest new build council housing sites in Scotland.

A total of 230 homes are being developed by Lovell Partnerships at Kirkhill in Broxburn, and will include a mixture of 92 cottage flats, 105 houses and 33 accessible bungalows.

West Lothian Council is aiming to build 1,000 new council homes by 2017.

Councillor George Paul said: "We are very proud to be building more high quality, affordable homes to rent across West Lothian and have the largest new build council housing site in Scotland.

"Although the start of any building project is a significant milestone, it's important to recognise that the new homes will enhance the communities around them for generations to come and help meet the high demand for affordable housing in West Lothian."
