A new roundabout junction has been completed two weeks ahead of schedule in Stirling.

The roundabout is located at the junction of the A905 and Station Road.

The project was a condition of the Planning Application when the new Polmaise Waste Management Facility was built.

Built by the council's Roads Services Team, the roundabout will provide improved access to and from the facility while also reducing vehicle speeds on the A905.

Both the design and construction was carried out in-house, allowing the site team to be supported by other council staff by carrying out operations such as road surfacing, fencing and street light installation.

Works began on 18 May 2015 and were expected to last 22 weeks.

Councillor Neil Benny said: "It's great that this project has finished ahead of schedule and on budget.

"It was a requirement placed on us by planning to build this roundabout to enable us to make the dump and waste vehicles more efficient."
