Work To Begin On Parking Spaces For Health Centre

An additional 75 space car park is to be developed for the new Houldsworth Centre in Wishaw.

Temporary buildings on East Academy Street housing Wishaw Library have now been removed.

Construction of the additional car parking is due to begin on 19 October.

Work is expected to take six to eight weeks.

Councillor William Hogg said: "A new 190 space car park opening in March on the site of the former health centre will adequately serve the new Houldsworth Centre.

"In the meantime, the council and NHS Lanarkshire are providing 75 spaces on the site of the temporary library which will help address congestion around the new facility."
