Engineers on behalf of Transport Scotland will carry out the inspections to the two above deck towers which provide cable support to the A898 Erskine Bridge.
In addition, a CCTV camera at the top of the south tower will be replaced with a newer, more efficient system.
A series of lane closures will take place between 7am until 6pm on the following dates:
• Saturday, 17 October.
• Sunday, 18 October.
• Saturday, 31 October.
• Sunday, 1 November.
Contract Director for Scotland TranServ, Gordon Wilson, said: "A series of detailed inspections must be carried out to the towers which support Erskine Bridge to ensure that it is maintained to industry standards."
