A planning application has been lodged for a new school in East Dunbartonshire.

The application was submitted by Archial Norr.

The school is to be built on the site of the existing Woodhill Primary School in Bishopbriggs as part of the Council's Primary School Improvement Programme.

The facility is to replace Auchinairn and Woodhill Primaries.

It will be developed by Morgan Sindall.

Gordon Currie, Director of Education & Children's Services said: "Having consulted with pupils, parents, school staff and the local community over the last year, the design for the new primary school in Bishopbriggs has now been finalised.

|The proposal is based on the national reference design that was created for Lairdsland Primary School in Kirkintilloch which was the first new school built as part of the Council's Primary School Improvement Plan."

The application will be considered by the council's Planning Service before being referred to the planning board for a decision.
