Scottish Water has announced approximately 1.4km of a water main is to be re-lined in Lanarkshire.
The project is part of a wider £4.8m scheme to upgrade 45km of water mains in North and South Lanarkshire.
The scheme is to help provide improved drinking water quality for residents.
The work will take place in phases for approximately 12 weeks and is to begin on Monday, 28 September.
Traffic management will be in place due to the main being located under a section of the A73 road.
Bill Elliot, Scottish Water's Community Team Manager for Lanarkshire said: "It's important that the water mains used to move water from our treatment works to customers' homes and businesses are in the best possible condition so that we can provide continuous, high-quality drinking water well into the future."
