Former Office Block To Be Demolished In West Lothian

A former office block in West Lothian is being demolished to make way for new housing.

Work has started to flatten and clear Lomond House in Livingston.

The council will develop 62 homes on the site once demolition works are complete.

Development of the new homes is due to begin in early 2016.

New housing is being built across various sites in Livingston, however the Lammermuir scheme will be the largest development.

The council is to build 1,000 new council homes across each of the nine wards by 2017.

Councillor George Paul said: "Our new build housing building programme is well underway and I'm sure everyone is looking forward to the new homes in Livingston taking shape over the next year.

"Council homes are in short supply across the country and these new homes will help provide local people with excellent quality new homes."

Last year, national figures highlighted West Lothian Council built more homes than any other Scottish authority.
