Over £5 million was invested in school improvements during the summer holiday period, according to Fife Council.
More than 80 individual projects jointly managed by the council's Education, Property and Building Services were completed.
The projects ranged in value from £10,000 to £1.4m.
Works included the completion of a new nursery at Lynburn Primary School, the refurbishment of three science classrooms at Balwearie High School and the reopening of the drama and science wing at Kirkcaldy High School after a full refurbishment.
Major works were also completed at Camdean Primary School, Caskieberran Primary School, Southwood Primary School, Lynburn Primary School and Commercial Primary Schools.
In addition, over £1m was invested to improve the energy efficiency and accessibility of the schools estate, with works ranging from window replacements to replacement lighting.
