Miller Homes has been granted planning permission to build a housing development in Angus.
Plans involve building 164 homes including 43 properties on the site of the former Ashludie Hospital in Monifieth.
A listed building on the site will also be renovated and restored.
David Morgan, Land Director for Miller Homes, said: "We are delighted that our joint application with the site's owner NHS Tayside has been granted subject to the completion of a legal planning agreement which is expected shortly.
"Our development proposals have been well considered and will go some way towards addressing a long standing housing shortfall whilst enhancing the area at the same time."
Miller Homes said it hopes to begin work on the infrastructure of the site later this year.
