Sports Centre To Be Refurbished

A sports centre in Inverclyde is scheduled to undergo a 'major' refurbishment.

The Ravenscraig Sports Centre will be redeveloped and is expected to reopen in early 2016.

The complex, which will be renamed to Ravenscraig Activity Centre, will include a new adventure climbing facility, a fitness gym, a new play area, a coffee restaurant and two party rooms.

The gym will be located on a new second floor mezzanine level.

The refurbishment project is in partnership with Inverclyde Council and Inverclyde Leisure.

Councillor James McColgan said: "This is a major investment in the Ravenscraig facility and when opened next year will add a new facility to Inverclyde Leisure’s range of sporting and leisure facilities."
