Dundee City Council has announced approximately 200 sheltered tenants could benefit from refurbished communal facilities if £24,600 worth of work is approved.

Councillors are to consider a new kitchen in each of Tullideph and Brington sheltered housing complexes at a meeting on 24 August.

Councillor John Alexander said: "Wherever possible we are investing in the facilities such as these two kitchens to ensure that they are as up to date as possible and offer the high standards that our tenants expect."

If the tender is approved by the housing committee, the work will be carried out by the council's environment department construction services division.

In the past decade over £150m has been spent on kitchen upgrades as part of the council's successful drive to meet the Scottish Housing Quality Standard.
