The Scottish Roads Partnership (SRP) has invited the public to attend an informational event ahead of major roadworks at the Shawhead Junction in South Lanarkshire.
SRP is delivering the £500m M8/M73/M74 Motorway Improvements Project.
The contractor is extending an open invitation to local communities and businesses in the area to learn about the construction works currently underway along the A8/M8 from Baillieston to Newhouse, including Shawhead Junction.
Work will involve developing three new junctions along the A8/M8 including Shawhead, Eurocentral and Chapelhall, upgrades to the existing Baillieston and Newhouse Junctions, along with improvements to the A725 Bellshill Bypass and B7070 North Road, Bellshill.
Gabrial Valtueña-Ramos, General Manager for SRP, said: "Our Drop-In event offers local residents, businesses and commuters the opportunity to view the details of the major improvements planned for these routes and how journeys will be affected.
"Our biggest challenge is to keep the high volume of traffic already using these heavily congested routes and junctions moving and to ensure disruption to road users and residents is minimised a far as is practically possible.
"We have planned our works to ensure two lanes will remain operational in each direction during peak times, although traffic management and speed restrictions will be in place."
The informal drop-in event will take place from 12-noon to 8pm at the Hilton Strathclyde Hotel, Strathclyde Business Park, Bellshill, on 13 August.
