Scottish Renewables has announced the UK's largest renewable energy competition launches today 6 August.

The Scottish Green Energy Awards, now in its 12th year, comprises of 13 categories designed to recognise the people and organisations who help supply almost half of Scotland's power.

The competition attracts over 1,250 people to Edinburgh each December.

Scottish Renewables Director of Marketing Jillian McKenna said: "Scotland's reputation as a green power hub is famous across the world, and the Scottish Green Energy Awards have reflected that prominence for more than a decade now.


"The event is our opportunity to reflect on and recognise the determination, innovation and creativity that has defined the growth of our industry and ensured 2014 was another record-breaking year for renewables output in Scotland."

The event, sponsored by EDF Energy Renewables, will be held on 3 December at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre.
