Work is underway to refurbish four primary schools in Moray.
The £17 million project will result in major improvements at Applegrove in Forres, Millbank in Buckie, Seafield in Elgin and St Gerardine in Lossiemouth.
The work will bring the schools condition up to a standard that will be fit for the purpose of delivering education to pupils in the 21st century.
A £10 million grant from the Scottish Government has funded the refurbishment, with the local council providing the remainder of the funding.
Work includes new roof coverings, windows and doors, external insulation, new toilets and completely modernised heating and electrical systems.
Galliford Try, the parent company of Morrison Construction, has been appointed as contractors with planning approval given to all four sites.
Work is set to get underway during the summer and will continue until spring 2017.
