A project to refurbish and extend a skatepark in West Lothian has been completed.

The £300,000 scheme to redevelop Livingston Skatepark was funded by the council's Open Space Capital Programme.

Wheelscape was appointed as main contractor in 2014.

Works include extending the facility with additional features along with refurbishing.

Local skaters and Skateboard Scotland were consulted over the project.

Councillor Dave King said: "I'm delighted that this exciting project to revamp Livingston Skatepark has now been completed.

"We know local skaters value the skatepark and it plays a significant role in encouraging young people to be physically active, as well as acting as a social hub.

"The £300,000 investment to refurbish and expand the project will help ensure it continues to be an excellent facility for local skaters and visitors for many years to come."

Project consultee Brian Sivess added: "Regeneration work was required to make sure it was up to standard for the future, and the Livingston skating community is absolutely delighted with the results that have been achieved."
