Council Announces £138m Housing Project

Renfrewshire Council has announced a £138 million programme to improve properties in the region.

The five year project will upgrade tenants' homes to meet the Scottish Housing Quality Standard (SHQS).

Over 200 jobs have been created via contractors working on the programme, one of which is Keepmoat.

Councillor Macmillan said: "The SHQS programme has not only benefitted council tenants but has had a huge impact on wider communities.

"One of the key elements of the programme was that contractors were encouraged to provide employment and training opportunities for local people."
