Ayrshire Housing has announced work has started on its latest housing development.
A total of 22 flats and houses are set to redevelop the Limonds Wynd site.
The £2.5 million scheme has been designed by John Gilbert Architects to achieve the Scottish Government's silver energy efficiency standard.
Ayrshire Housing’s chair Rhonda Leith said: "I’m delighted that Provost Helen Moonie is launching this exciting development."
Provost Moonie said: "It’s great to see Ayrshire Housing despite all the financial challenges maintaining its commitment to high quality sustainable housing."
The contractor for the project is Ashleigh Building who demolished a redundant former school building during the first phase of works.
The main building development is now underway and will be completed by May 2016.
