SW Announces Infrastructure Upgrades

Scottish Water (SW) has announced improvements are scheduled on the waste water infrastructure of a town in East Dunbartonshire.

The work is being carried out by MacKenzie Construction in Bishopbriggs on behalf of Scottish Water Horizons.

Developments include the installation of new pipework and two new manholes in a grassed area between Wester Cleddens Road, Bemersyde and St Helen's Primary School.

Work is due to start on 29 June and last for approximately seven weeks.

The contractors will use two way temporary traffic lights on Wester Cleddens Road for about two weeks.

A third manhole will also be constructed on the road in Bemersyde at its junction with Wester Cleddens Road, which will involve closing the intersection.

The closure will last for roughly four weeks and there will be no access to Bemersyde from Wester Cleddens Road during this period.

The upgrade works will also enable housing development in the area.
