The Highland Council has announced restoration work is underway on a bridge in the region.
The Alexandra Bridge in Tain is currently undergoing a refurbishment project funded by Historic Scotland, the council and the Royal Burgh of Tain Community Council.
The supporting hangers and bridge deck have been removed for cleaning and restoration work.
Further plans include refurbishing the bridge towers by using sheet piling as access to the below ground sections is required.
A section of the river path at the bridge will be closed for four days while this phase of work is carried out.
The reinstatement stage will also close the bridge for one or two days so piling can be removed.
The contractor is expected to begin work by the end of the week.
Councillor Alistair Rhind said: "The bridge is a real Tain landmark and it’s good to know it will be restored and will soon be back in place with a new lease of life."
