Fife Council has appointed Farrans Construction to undertake repair works at the storm damaged breakwater in Pittenweem Harbour.
Work is already underway and involves:
• Stabilising the foundation of the breakwater.
• Repairing the various cracks.
• Re-levelling the deck.
• Installing protection around the foundation of the breakwater.
The total cost of the repairs works is just under £2 million and will take six months.
Councillor Pat Callaghan said: "I’m pleased to see works getting underway to repair the storm damaged breakwater at Pittenweem."
