Scotland TranServ has announced it is to carry out a programme of works on the A75 at Cree Bridge.
The road surface will be improved and the bridges deck will be waterproofed.
Work will be carried out on behalf of Transport Scotland and will begin on 12 June, lasting for three weeks.
Two weekend total closures of the Bridge will occur between 8.00pm and 6.00am from 12 June until 14 June, and 3 July until 5 July.
Gordon Wilson, Contract Director for Scotland Transerv said: "This maintenance scheme will not only improve the road surface but also ensure the A75 at Cree Bridge is in optimum condition ahead of the busy summer season."
Diversions are as follows:
• Eastbound: A714, right turn onto King Street, left onto B7079 New Galloway Road, A712 re-join A75 at Bankirk.
• Westbound: Right turn onto A712, left New Galloway Road, left Victoria Street Newton Stewart Roundabout to rejoin the carriageway.
