The Argyll and Bute Council has announced the redevelopment of a 2G pitch at Rothesay.
The current 2G sand-dressed pitch at Rothesay Joint Campus will be replaced and upgraded to a 3G sports pitch which will accommodate a wide range of sporting activities.
The 40mm 3G pitch will be available for local sports teams, clubs and people in the community to use out of school hours.
Provost of Argyll and Bute, Len Scoullar, said: "We have spent time talking with the school about what sort of surface will best suit their needs and will allow people to take part in as many different sporting activities as possible.
"The new 40mm 3G surface which will be installed is suitable for a wide range of sports including football, hockey, shinty, non-contact rugby and athletics, and will therefore satisfy as many competing demands as possible."
