East Ayrshire Council has announced road closures on the A713 south of Dalmellington due to essential resurfacing works.
Two sections of the road will be closed from 26 May as part of the Ayrshire Roads Alliance programme to improve the condition of the road network.
The project will involve the resurfacing of approximately 2.5km south of the U759 Loch Doon turn off along with resurfacing/widening of approximately 0.5km at the same junction.
The closures will take place over five weekends:
• 30 to 31 May
• 6 to 7 June.
• 13 to 14 June.
• 20 to 21 June.
• 27 to 28 June.
Road Alliance officers have put the following measurements in place:
• The working day will start later at 8.30am on Saturday when the road will close.
• The road will be re-opened for an hour at approximately 12pm under convoy traffic management.
• The road will then re-open at 5pm again under convoy traffic management until the road closes again at 8.30am on the Sunday.
• The same arrangements will apply each Sunday with the road closing at 8.30am; re-opening for an hour at approximately 12pm then re-opening again at 5pm.
During the weekend closure periods a diversion route will be fully signed via A713, A702, A76, B741.
