School Site To Include Public Space

Dundee Council has announced future developments at a former school site will include an area of public open space.

Almost 30 local residents responded to a consultation on the development plans for the Kingspark school site at Gilburn Road.

Draft plans for the site include a mix of house types and sizes on three quarters of the site, with 25% of the area being retained as open space for community use.

Many respondents to the consultation supported the retention of open space in the area.

Will Dawson, Convener of the council's development committee said: "The local community have been consulted and are keen that open space for public use is retained as part of the site and the planning brief reflects that desire."
