Council Approves Planning Permission

Planning permission has been approved by East Dunbartonshire Council for a proposed redevelopment site.

Permission was granted for the former Tom Johnston House site and Whitegates Business Park.

Plans for the 10 acre mixed-use development in Kirkintilloch include a food store, a petrol filling station,a restaurant and associated parking along with access and landscaping.

Council Leader Rhondda Geekie said: "This is good news for Kirkintilloch and could unlock two sites with a huge amount of potential.

"We listened carefully to the feedback from the local community at the Planning Pre-Determination Hearing and this will play an important part in informing any future planning application."
