South Lanarkshire Council has announced the M74 motorway will be closed between 6am – 9am on 26 April.
This is to allow maintenance work to be carried out by SP Energy Networks on an overhead line.
A stretch of the motorway between junctions 6 and 8 will be closed in both directions so the work can be undertaken safely.
Diversions are as follows:
• South bound traffic will be diverted off the M74 at junction 6 onto the A723. Motherwell/Hamilton.
• North bound traffic will be diverted off the M74 at junction 8 Larkhall onto the A71 - A72 – B7078.
• Entry slip road north bound will be closed from the A71 Swinhill Road.
• Entry slip road north bound will be closed from the A72 Lanark Road.
• Entry slip road south bound will be closed from the A723 Hamilton Road.
