Scottish Borders Council has announced it is to spend £1.8 million on making local homes warmer, more environmentally friendly and cheaper to heat in time for winter.
The initiative is part of the Scottish Government's programme to tackle fuel poverty and increase energy efficiency in homes.
In partnership with Home Energy Scotland, measures include installing external, internal and loft insulation.
The areas to be developed are Peebles, Tweedbank, Newcastleton and Denholm.
